For over a decade mill owners and operators across the country and even across the pond have been collaborating via a Facebook group. Four different times we have met together for a summit at a somewhat central location. Summits have been hosted by various mills in the past starting with Morning Star Fiber in Apple Creek, OH; then New Era Fiber in Gallatin, TN; next was the Feltloom in Sharpsburg, TN; and the most recent one was with C&M Acres in Maxwell, IA.
This summer on Thursday, July 18th another one day summit in conjunction with the Natural Fiber Extravaganza in Lebanon, TN will be hosted. This time the summit was hosted by a steering committee of Rachel Boucher, JC Christensen, Christian Davies, and Kark Heinrich. For over 12 months this committee has continued to work through the dynamics of what it will take to move from a loosely associated group of mills connected via Facebook to a more dynamic network. This summit will present what we have found to be the right path for that to happen and what it will require from each mill.
We have also researched the right group of vendors to be represented at this event. While we can’t disclose any names until those agreements have been solidified let’s just say we believe these companies are the keys to creating a dynamic network. We have also worked on a schedule that will help to facilitate a summit where mill owners can connect, discover, learn, and grow. This year signing up for the event is easier than ever thanks to TicketLeap. There is an early bird special that is available up until May 15th.
So this summer don’t pass up the great opportunity to connect face to face with other mill owners and operators and be a part of a dynamic summit where concepts, processes, practices, and models are presented that will help your company progress towards realizing your goals. The early bird discount is $125/mill owner and additional “1+” tickets can be purchased for your spouse or other mill workers ($25/ticket – limit 2). General admission costs will $175/mill and additional “1+” tickets will be $35/ticket. We’ve planned a great program to facilitate presentations, discussion, networking, and resource connections. We’ve also coordinated with local restaurants to provide breakfast & lunch on Thursday.
We’re excited to meet you and connect a person with a face. These events in the past have been very influential in transforming daily practices in the mill. The relationship building is great and the presenters are always super helpful. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to connect and grow. Below is a schedule of what we have planned.
